Armando joined ConferenceDirect upon recognizing the need from both, his peers and customers. Often, when misguided, customers could overexpose themselves and or present a poorly organized event. Suppliers also needed more interaction with experienced planning professionals since fewer people have to carry the workload these days. Armando will also focus on building the brand awareness, building a team and developing partnerships for ConferenceDirect in Puerto Rico and Caribbean region. An accomplished industry veteran of over 25 years, Armando brings vast experience in leadership, sales & marketing, contract negotiations, customer service and much more. He's negotiated and planned many high profile VIP events, such as the World Amateur Golf Championships, Miss Universe 2001, Alliance for New Humanity x 3 (Deepak Chopra, Al Gore, Oscar Arias etc.), USTA Annual Conference, CMP Conclave, Hyatt Cup and more. For the past 3 years, he led Sales and Marketing for three mid-size hotels (Four Points by Sheraton Resort & Casino at Palmas del Mar, Four Points by Sheraton Caguas Real Hotel & Casino, Howard Johnson Isla Verde) where they experienced growth in their group market segments.

As Vice President of Sales & Marketing, he also restructured the Sales, revenue management & reservations dept. as well as instrumental in the business plans, designs, franchise negotiation for future hotel developments. Previously, he spent 7 years at The Westin Rio Mar Beach Golf Resort & Casino as Director of Sales since 2003. This property was 65% Group market from all parts of the world. It provided him with a wealth of experience with Association Annual Conventions & Board Retreats, corporate (incentives, seminars, meetings etc.), government, SMERF and much more. Property sales teams had record sales during several years. Before that, he spent 7 years with Hyatt Hotels of Puerto Rico and 9 years with American Airlines, Inc. In 2001 he achieved his CMP (Certified Meeting Planner) designation. He is also the founding President of the official HSMAI Puerto Rico Chapter, Board Member of the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau 2009-2011, Board Member of the SME (Sales & Mktg Exec. Assn.) 2010-2012 and active member of Toastmasters International.

Armando is also a U.S. Veteran of Foreign War (Beirut, Lebanon 83'-84'). Armando has also travelled extensively to many cities around the world. Based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Armando and his team are focused on simplifying your life while meeting your Meeting - Events objectives around the globe.
